The Alps
What can be said about the Alps that hasn't already been said elsewhere?
I have driven many roads throughout much of the Alps and yet at the same time seen very little of this magnificent part of our planet. There is still so much to see, and I mean see properly, as opposed to riding the bike through en-route to each planned destination. If ever money were not an issue then I could happily spend a year or more discovering the Alpine regions of France, Austria, Switzerland and Italy, as well as further west to the Pyrenees. In fact anywhere and everywhere from the German Black Forest onward to the Alps..
The Dolomites are breathtaking and should be on every persons bucket list!
I recall the very first time I visited the Dolomites - we were on the F650 riding through one town and then suddenly to my right I caught sight of an enormous rock form towering over everything beneath it. I had goosebumps forming in an instant down my arms and neck which were caused purely by this initial sighting. In a word... phenomenal!
